You will have to use a Microsoft account to get the extended updates.
If you prefer not to use a Microsoft account to access Windows (I certainly avoid the practice), you can still get the updates by registering an account and using it only to get those updates. You can still log in as a local user.
You get ten machines per account.
Just run your updates until they end, and accept Microsoft’s offer for extended updates.
